Capitol Hill Books is a used bookstore located on historic Capitol Hill in Washington DC, with two cozy floors of quality used books, first editions and rare books.
We are open EVERY day, from 11:30 am to 6:00 pm on weekdays and from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on weekends. (We are closed on July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day)
We are located directly across from Eastern Market, two blocks from the Eastern Market metro stop and just a short walking distance from the United States Capitol, The Library of Congress, and The Supreme Court. Please click here for Driving Directions to our store.

If you are searching for a particular book, please visit the store, call, or e-mail us. A few of our first edition books are listed on the Advanced Book Exchange, otherwise known as abebooks.com. We encourage you to SEARCH or BROWSE our books through ABE.
We have many, many more books in the store than are listed online. To get a real taste of everything we have to offer, we recommend that you come in for a visit. We have fiction books in the fiction room (hard cover & paperbacks), mystery books in the Mystery Room, foreign language books in the bathroom, cookbooks in the kitchen on the kitchen sink, business books with the lawyers in the Business Closet, cultural biographies in the Cultural Closet, and a Weird Section for those who like witches, dreams, and things that go in the night. We also have books on history, philosophy, travel, Washington DC, theology, psychology, politics (of course), games, art and more.
Every bit of space in the store has a book, and there really is one here, somewhere, for you.
If we don't have what you want in the store, we will try to find it for you at an estate sale or auction. We are always ready to accept your DONATIONS of used books. We will also purchase your books according to our Purchase Policy.
Capitol Hill Books is a member of the Washington Antiquarian Booksellers' Association (WABA).
