Biography of the British journalist and broadcaster known for his Letter from America series on BBC radio and as a long-time host of Masterpiece Theatre. In a warm Christmas card arriving ahead of the book, biographer Nick Clarke mentions to Safire that the book "includes a section based on the correspondence that you were kind enough to share with me," and says the publisher will be sending a copy along. Safire affixed a personalized post-it from The Dana Foundation on the card with the note "Put this in when it comes."
