Dust jacket is clean and bright with some mild sunning to spine. Light wear top edge of spine. Boards are square with sharp corners. Binding is tight. Pages are clean and unmarked.

Included letter is dated May 6, 1997 and written on Mahoney's personal letterhead. The letter states: "I can't begin to tell you what you mean to me. Your friendship, your caring, your nurturing, and your just being Bill Safire means so much. It's not just what you're doing for the Foundation, but what you are doing for me. David Mahoney served as Chairman of the Charles A. Dana Foundation from 1977 until his death in 2000. William Safire was elected Chairman in his place. They both worked to increase funding for brain research.
