Very Good. Item #5392

[New Haven]: [n.p.], 1834. Octavo; 24 pages. Originally published in blue wraps, here only rear panel present and detached. Deals with misreadings and inaccuracies in Biblical translations, and accused Lindley Murray and Joseph Worcester of plagiarizing Webster’s "Speller." From the estate of author, Presidential Speechwriter, and language maven William Safire. Amusing and informative pencil annotations and marginalia throughout, though they don’t appear to be in Safire’s hand.

Worn and rubbed along edged. Dampstain to top right corner but text unaffected. Binding is holding. None in retail at time of writing in September 2019, and last auction record is from 1968. [Sabin 102342; Skeel 714].
