Binder's mark of The Riverside Press on verso of front free endpaper at top. Front board separated down joint, but still holding securely by glued endpapers. Boards otherwise very lightly shelfworn, with a bit of fading along spine. Previous owner's name (L.F. Emmet) on fly leaf. Page binding is sound, and pages unmarked.
Hastings was the first de facto Governor-General of India. He was impeached on corruption charges in 1787, but was acquitted eight years later.
