Blue cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering to spines. All volumes sturdy and square, with light edgewear, some bumps to corners, and tugging to spine ends on most. A few open easily to between gatherings, but bindings are secure. Earlier ownership stamp of G.B. Knoeller on front pastedown of each volume, else pages unmarked.

This copy from the personal library of journalist and former presidential speechwriter William Safire, but with no ownership marks or plates.
