Yearbook for the traditionally African-American high school in Washington, DC, which counts among its alumni (though not from this yearbook's class) Jean Toomer, Carter G. Woodson, and Eleanor Holmes Norton.
This yearbook includes numerous illustrations from 1941 graduate George Daniel Mercer, who would go on to become a cartoonist for the Baltimore Afro-American newspaper, and would have several of his designs selected for postage stamps or embossed envelopes for the United States Postal Service.
Some light dust soiling to edges of boards with a touch of wear to corners. Binding is sound and endpapers are stained at hinges, but pages otherwise bright. A few signatures to class photos.
