Drab pasteboard and label binding, as originally published, awaiting final purchaser's decision as to binding style. Textblock untrimmed and pages predominantly unopened—again, awaiting final purchaser's binding choices.
All joints and hinges solid; textblocks robustly sewn, with all gatherings solidly in place. Minimal foxing. Some dust has infiltrated the untrimmed textblock edges. A few polite pencil notations in the "LIfe of Savage" (Vol. X).
A remarkably complete, clean, and useable set, poised to accept a magnificent 21st century binding, but robust enough to go without, after having waited patiently for over two centuries.
