Menston: The Scolar Press Limited, 1973. Second Printing. Octavo; v + 468pp + Index, List of Plates, and Errata [all unpaginated, 13pp]. Fold-out frontispiece engraving of Selborne + second title engraved allegory + reproductions of six natural history images, for all of which the original 18th-century engravings were very fine. Facsimile of 1789 book, originally printed by T. Bensley in London "for B. White and Son, at Horace's Head, Fleet Street." Gold rule on spine very slightly askew, a stamping flaw by Scolar. Textblock top edge gilded. Endpapers clean, binding tight; small light mark (coffee stain?) on fore-edge of textblock. Protective plastic cover.
