My Landlady Holds Forth on Former Lodgers and Other Stories

Very Good. Item #000672

Dallas: The Kaleidograph Press, 1941. Includes signed handwritten note by the author clipped from a Christmas card with inscription "For dear Eliza with love from Marie Louise Lasar." Elizabeth Sewall Glenn, author of the memoir Curtains of Yesterday, written beneath. We assume but are uncertain that Glenn is the Eliza of the inscription. Clipping attached to a somewhat ill-fitting and likely later-added clear dust jacket.

Small octavo; 39pp. Sage-green cloth on boards with stucco-brown paper labels on front panel and spine. Boards bowing outward a bit at fore-edge. Very slight foxing to textblock edges, otherwise clean in tight binding.

Five small stories, falling on a spectrum between domestic and fantastic, with the allegorical pretensions of fables for adults.

Price: $35.00
