Large Octavo; 259 pp. Portrait frontis with tissue guard, with numerous color and black and white illustrations and plates throughout. Illustrated dust jacket over brown cloth with gilt lettering. Jacket shows a few shallow, clean tears and a couple small chips along top edge, with faint creasing to bottom back. Boards are sturdy and square. Binding is sound and pages unmarked. General musty smell to book when opened.

Limited revised edition of Kent's history of the firm to commemorate its 175th anniversary. Founded by an Irish linen merchant who emigrated to the United States in 1800, the Baltimore-based Alex. Brown & Sons was the first investment bank in America and still operates under its own name, though is now operated by Raymond James.
