Materials obviously in keeping with wartime rationing, as the boards are a bit limp and the paper thin. Jacket shows a few shallow chips and tears along edges and some occasional smudging, but is bright and crisp overall. Boards Bumped at corners and spine ends, with the bottom front corner a bit weak. Previous owner's gift inscription "With love for Philip - on Embarkation Leave 10/42) on front free endpaper. Pages toned but unmarked. Binding is sound.

Edward Stirling was the Director of The English Theatre, Paris. This account is of the travels of The English Players between 1922 and 1940 as they performed at State Theatres in over 30 countries in Europe and the Mediterranean.
