The Education in the Yi Dynasty
Very Good. Item #002965
Seoul: Soodo Women's Teachers College, 1961. Presumed First Edition. Signed/inscribed by author on title page. B&W author photograph frontis (retaining protective tissue) + 10-page B&W photographic gathering between English and Chinese portions of text. Octavo; English portion 181pp; Chinese portion (restarting pagination) 119pp. Green boards with gilt lettering on front panel and spine. Publisher's bound-in bookmark ribbon.
Light wear to corners and spine edges. Endpapers and pages clean and unmarked, tight in binding.
First 3/5ths of book in appealing off-shore English, as in this pedagogic advice: "Condescend oneself as a friend of the students and don't behave oneself as an instructor." Second portion of book repeats the same material in Chinese, presumably more idiomatic. Dr. Young-Ha Choo and his wife were leaders in women's education in South Korea, and founded the private Soodo Women's Teachers College in Seoul.
