Gift inscription from a father to son dated 1896, then another from the son to his son dated 1933 on front free endpaper, else pages unmarked. The third of Abbot's August Stories. First published by Dodd & Mead in 1872, then reprinted by Tomas Y. Crowell & Co. from 1884 into the 1890s.
