Very Good / Very Good -. Item #10236
New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1934. First Edition, with Scribner's A and seal to copyright. Octavo (19.5cm.); publisher's cloth in silver pictorial dust jacket; ,287pp. Possibly ex-library, jacket flaps having been previously pasted to front endpapers and jacket extremities reinforced with some subsequent darkening of stock; despite crude early reinforcement, jacket extremities still a bit chipped, slightly affecting the "Scribners" at spine foot; corners bumped, else Very Good in Good to Very Good jacket. Despite flaws, still quite an unusually presentable copy.
The author's second novel, dedicated to Ford Madox Ford, following the adventures of the eponymous sportsman through Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee.
