This is the catalog of the Kirchner show which ran at the Michael Werner Gallery from 18 April to 14 June 2008. German Expressionist Kirchner (1880-1938) is now remembered, beyond the actual aesthetics of his work, for being targeted in 1937 as one of the practitioners of "Degenerate Art," vilified by the Nazi authorities.
