Brice Marden: Attendants, Bears, and Rocks
From Daniel Baird's review of the show: "Purple is not an effete color for connoisseurs, but gesturing toward the warm and the cool, it is always heavy, a little sticky, and on the verge of being vulgar." Make a note of it.

Brice Marden: Attendants, Bears, and Rocks

New York: Matthew Marks Gallery, 2002. New / New. Item #11564
ISBN: 1880146363

New York: Matthew Marks Gallery, 2002. First Edition. Oblong Quarto within clamshell casing (28x32x2cm); unpaginated [120pp]. Seventy-six color reproductions of paintings, drawings, and etchings.

Clamshell casing—as opposed to a full six-sided box—in cochineal red cloth has magnetized overflap at right edge to protect inner volume from bears and rocks and the unwashed fingers of attendants; black lettering on front panel and spine. Inner volume in gray card covers over sewn gatherings. The whole still in its original shrinkwrap, visible in our photographs. Thus untouched, New.

This is the catalog of the Marden show at the Matthew Marks Gallery in New York City held from 4 May to 21 June 2002.

Price: $40.00
