Philadelphia: Henry Altemus Company, 1906. Very Good / Very Good. Item #11622
Philadelphia: Henry Altemus Company, 1906. Presumed First Edition. Small octavo; 123pp +2 ads. Printed in black and red throughoutIllustrated dust jacket with glassine jacket underneath; book in publisher's blue cloth with gilt lettering and red, white, and green illustration. Jacket shows a number of tears and shallow chips along edges and folds, with archival tape repair on verso to a longer tear to back. Glassine jacket underneath tattered along top edge; cut too short for book's size, so unsure if it would have been original or was a later addition. Boards lightly bumped at corners and spine ends, with some toning along bottom edge; colors and lettering bright. Back hinge lightly cracked but secure just before endpaper. Prior owner's gift inscription dated Christmas 1906 on front free endpaper. Small, closed tear at bottom margin of frontis and another just touching text on p. 87, with a few thumbprints but no marks to interior. Binding is sound.
