New York: New Directions, 1949. First New Classics Edition. Octavo; xix, 124pp. Alvin Lustig-illustrated dust jacket with $1.50 price intact; book in gray cloth with blue lettering to spine. Jacket dampstained over top and bottom of back panel -- most visible to interior but with some faint rippling to exterior; jacket also shows a closed inch tear at bottom front, a few more shallow tears at folds and along edges, chipping at spine ends, and some smudging to surface. Boards unaffected by dampstain, showing just some light edgewear and rubbing at spine ends. Spine very faintly cocked. Small shadow of pencil erasure at top corner of front free endpaper; small blackened spot with puncture on pp. 69-70 with partial word loss on one side, else pages unmarked. Binding is secure.
