Summary from Ersye Kirk's The Black Experience in Books for Children and Young Adults: "The villagers of Umu Madu had many merry feast [sic] sitting on the ground until one day a stranger convinces them to use tables. The results are disastrous." Worldcat shows one copy of the 1984 edition at time of writing, with all other institutional copies, reference listings, and retail copies being the 1989 or 1993 Africa World Press editions.
