Light edgewear and general rubbing to boards. Ex- Washington University library with adhesive remnants from removed call numbers on spines and institutional bookplates (marked as deaccessioned) on front pastedowns, along with glue remnants to rear pastedowns, and a few stamps and pencil annotations, else pages largely unmarked and legible throughout. Binding is sound.
Presented as a "complete edition" by Sanborn, compiled from seven drafts Thoreau prepared before publication. Includes 12,000 words not in the original edition.
