Some light wear and darkening to cloth extremities, brief flaw to upper cover cloth sizing, else Very Good and sound.
Provenance: Inscribed and signed on front flyleaf by the Patterson's grandson, John Joseph Abercrombie III, to Walter Q. Gresham, American jurist and member of the 38th Indiana Volunteer Infantry. Gresham saw fighting at the siege of Vicksburg, but a bullet destroyed his leg during Sherman's campaign in Atlanta, curtailing his military career.
