Laid in Christmas card inscribed and signed "to Katherine and Francis Biddle, from Willa and Edwin Muir," though the inscription appears to be entirely in Willa Muir's hand. The card, addressed to the poet Katherine Garrison Chapin and her husband Francis Biddle, was re-gifted by Chapin two years later, along with the Christmas card, the front free endpaper sporting the inscription: "For Dot - with love from Katherine Garrison Chapin / Washington / December / 1955."
