Albany: Henry Hardy Hines, 1962. First Edition. Signed by the author at top of title page with inscription "To one of my first customers, Morris Jacobs. Henry Hardy Hines, 6/6/75. Quarto11" x 8.5"; 122pp +1pp announcements. Later binding in green cloth with gilt lettering, retaining original printed gray covers. Mimeographed interior on 8.5" x 11" green vellum with 22pp of photo-offset illustrations; pre-punched for 3-hole binders along gutter. Housed in custom brown slipcase. Boards are sturdy, clean, and square. Binding is sound and pages unmarked.
Heins notes in his expanded 1964 edition that this 1962 precursor was "the original edition of the present volume," adding that a total of 148 copies were made: "98 were distributed in the form of loose sheets and covers punched for 3-hole binders, and 50 in white plastic comb-binding for presentation copies and libraries."
