Provenance: Contemporary ex libris of a Joseph Horace Kimball, almost certainly the author of the abolitionist treatise Emancipation in the West Indies: A Six Months' Tour in Antiqua, Barbados, and Jamaica in the Year 1837, first published by the American Anti-Slavery Society in 1838. Together with the later gift bookplate of the New Hampshire Antiquarian Society on front pastedown, stating that this volume was presented to the Society by M.W. Kimball in 1876.
