Octavo; publisher's textured cloth, printed paper spine label; iv,183,[1],4pp. Ex-Philip Schaff Library of Lancaster Theological Seminary with their usual markings, additional discreet markings of a contemporary (i.e. nineteenth century) theological seminary, cloth unevenly faded and spine label darkened, boards open a bit shakily, endpapers toned, else a Good reading copy, internally clean and sound.

Quite uncommon collection of lectures by the Scottish phrenologist George Combe (1788-1858). Of special note, perhaps, are the four pages of publisher's advertisements bound in rear, which include numerous works of phrenology as well as such evocative titles as Observations of the Deranged Manifestations of the Mind, or Insanity, by J.G. Spurzheim, M.D.
