Auburn / Rochester: Alden, Beardsley & Co. / Wanzer, Beardsley & Co., 1854. First Edition and second in the series. Octavo. 309 pp. + publisher's advertisements. Frontis portraits, including Douglass. Brown blind-stamped cloth with gilt decoration to front and spine.
A collection of "Anti-Slavery Testimonies" from the Rochester Anti-Slavery Society with contributions from the likes of Frederick Douglass, Emerson, and Stowe, each ending with a facsimile signature. First volume in the series was published in 1853.
Boards chipped at spine ends and joints with loss to crown; corners bumped with exposure; general scuffing. Binding is sound. Spotting to endpapers and 1860 signature to front free endpaper. Small patch torn away at bottom of pages 17-8 and 133-4, with no loss of text. Light to moderate foxing to pages -- heavier to plates and opposite tissue guards -- but interior largely bright and legible throughout.
