Leather a bit scuffed at extremities, 19th century bookseller description tipped to front flyleaf noting that this copy is lacking the added engraved title page, textblock uniformly toned, else a Very Good, internally sound copy.
Early edition of the oft-reprinted heresiography to various religious sects arising simultaneously with the raging of the English Civil War. The text expands upon a sermon delivered by Ephraim Pagitt (1574-1646) that first appeared in print in the same year as this edition, in "The Mysticall Wolfe." Sects under consideration: Anabaptists, Brownists, Adamites, Independents, Familists, Antinomians, Arminians, Antitrinitarians, Anti-Sabbatarians, Jesuits, Seekers, and Papists.
