Light wear to cloth extremities, half title present and slightly soiled, glue residue inside upper cover from previously removed ex libris replaced with ownership rubberstamp; overall, Very Good and sound. Half title: "Dr. Thacher's Sermon, On the Death of Governor Hancock."

Eulogy delivered shortly after the death of Massachusetts statesman John Hancock, whose reputation even during his lifetime was godlike: "His patriotism, and his amiable popular manners, rendered him the idol of his fellow citizens; they loved his very name, and early showered upon him their best honors" (p. 18).
