Small quarto (17cm.); contemporary calf recently rebacked to match, gilt spine in six compartments; 100pp. ([A]-M4 N2). Leather a bit scuffed at extremities, most notably corners, textblock rather toned, damp staining to front free endpaper not bleeding into textblock, extensive contemporary manuscript scribbles and ownership signatures to rear endpapers, 20th century ownership rubberstamp to front pastedown; overall a Very Good copy.
First complete edition of the Revolutionary-era poet's satirical epic following the exploits of the Scottish Loyalist M'Fingal.
