Jacket rubbed along edges with a few blind impressions on back, but no chips or tears. Boards are sturdy and square with bright lettering to spine. Toned thumbprint and a couple other stray spots in fore-edge margins of front free endpaper and a couple internal pages, not touching text, else pages clean and unmarked. Binding is sound.
Penultimate in North's series of Yorkshire-based detective novels, which were the basis for the BBC series Cluff, which ran from 1964-65.
