Ex-library of Reformed Theological Seminary, Lancaster, PA, with abrasions to back pastedown from pocket removal, sticker shadow/remnant to tail of spine, and stamps on verso of front free endpaper, with note reading "Eric Lewis, Sudan Mission CMS - from the author, Sep. 1891" in pen above. Boards edgeworn with some nicks and fraying to spine ends. Boards open easily with back hinge just starting to crack at top edge, but binding is holding soundly. Pages unmarked.

Sigismund Wilhelm Kölle, a German missionary whose breakthrough study Polyglotta Africana led to the wide-scale study of African languages by European scholars, compiled his study of Islam and its believers to help aid fellow missionaries in their attempts to and convert them to Christianity.
