Sauk City: Arkham House, 1952. First Edition. Octavo (8.25" x 5.25"); viii, 280p. Illustrated dustjacket with original $3.00 price; book in gray cloth-covered boards with blue lettering to spine. Jacket shows shallow chipping and tugging at spine ends, with a couple light bumps to corners and some foxing and faint waterspotting visible on interior, but is clean and crisp overall. Spine a bit cocked with nudging at head and tail. Boards faded a bit along top edge, with a couple small punctures at bottom of rear joint. 1/4" wormhole to bottom page edges affecting final 30 or so pages, but not involving text. Interior is clean and unmarked. Binding is sound. Anthology of works from prior Arkham House publications, including "The Churchard Dew," Derleth's own story attributed to LeFanu as a hoax, and Lovecraft's The Case of Charles Dexter Ward, which had gone out of print in its original collection.
