Covers rubbed along edges and joints with bumping to corners and spine ends. Bookplate of "Frank Prior Hebblethwaite" on front pastedown with his acquisition inscription opposite. Small bookseller's stamp on half title. A few small wormholes affecting first and last twenty or so pages with tape repair over some instances, but not involving text. Light dampstain in top margin through last third of the book, without rippling. Binding is sound and pages unmarked. First collection of poems by the author considered the founder of Romanticism in Brazilian literature (also a significant figure in Brazilian theater), published the same year as his Romantic manifesto "Discurso Sobre a História da Literatura no Brasil."
