Original dustjacket with $5.95 price; book in mustard paper-covered boards with black cloth spine and gilt lettering. Jacket shows a few small chips and tears along edges, with a small dampstain along bottom edge visible from interior. Boards bumped at corners and spine ends with some toning and smudging. Small dampstain at bottom of front free endpaper. A few pages with some spotting and smudging, but no marks. Binding is sound. Kowet's account, written under pseudonym, of his two years working as a caseworker in the New York City Department of Public Welfare.
