Chicago: Henry Regnery Company, 1951. First Edition, SIGNED by the author with brief inscription but no dedication on front free endpaper. Octavo (8.5" x 5.5"); xix, 240p. Blue cloth-covered boards. Missing dustjacket. Covers bumped at corners and spine ends, with a couple small chips to cloth near head of spine, some fading and smudging to cloth, and heavy fading to spine. Rear hinge cracked exposing mesh, but binding is still holding soundly. Toning to back endpapers from previously laid-in slippings, with bookplate of Margaret Watkins on front pastedown and gift inscription "To Dr. Peg Watkins, From her Dad Mar. 8th 1951" in pen on full title. Pages otherwise clean and unmarked. Yale "Report of the President's Advisory Committee" pamphlet dated February 1952 and a reprint of McGeorge Bundy's November 1951 Atlantic Monthly rebuttal to Buckley's book laid in at back.
