Penultimate issue of Tomine’s seven self-published Optic Nerve mini-comics before getting picked up by Drawn and Quarterly. While most issues were hand-drawn and Xeroxed, Issue 6 was the first to have an offset print run with two-color cardstock covers. Optic Nerve continues to be published by Drawn and Quarterly (the most recent issue appearing 2013). Tomine also works in commercial illustration, and has drawn cartoons and covers for The New Yorker.
