First Edition. Very Good / Very Good. Item #4946
London: Alfred A. Knopf, 1929. First Edition. Octavo. 185 pages followed by fourteen pages of a blank ledger for recording wine purchases and notes. In dust jacket illustrated by film art designer Edward Carrick, with Borzoi Books colophon to base of spine. Marbled paper boards in purple cloth with spine stamped in gilt.
Dust jacket is rubbed and worn along edges, with a couple small chips at crown and at corners. Some foxing to front and rear of dust jacket. Light wear to spine ends and corners of book. Binding is sound. A couple stains to top edge, but blend in with the purple top stain and text is unaffected. Foxing to fore edge and bottom edge. Pages are unmarked. A sound copy in a very good dust jacket of an awkwardly titled book.
