Near Fine. Item #5385
[Detroit]: The Glass Bell Press, 1974. Broadside, 11x8.5 inches. Printed on yellow paper.
Broadside printing of Audre Lorde's poem about the death of a childhood friend. Later published in anthologies as "Brother Alvin." Crisp and clean with only slight wear to corners.
Detroit's Glass Bell Press published poems by women from 1974 to 1979, largely in broadside form. In 1975, Glass Bell printed 10 broadsides for the portfolio collection, "Ten Michigan Women Poets." This is one of nine poems Glass Bell printed in 1974 for which we have found records, but it remains unclear whether the 1974 broadsides were intended or issued as a collection.
Scarce. Three copies located in OCLC.
