New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1981. First Edition. Octavo. 467 pages. Typed postcard signed from Updike to previous owner laid in at front. Postcard is dated February 15 and addressed to a Dr. Sidney M. Fogelman, a dentist in Washington, D.C. In the note, Updike thanks Fogelman for his nice letter and discusses their respective histories growing up and living in Reading and Shillington. Updike touches on Andrew's drug store and Loew's, and how he use to eat lunch at the counter of McCrory's. Letter includes some corrections in Updike's hand.
Illustrated price-clipped dust jacket is gently rubbed along edges with some toning along top edge. Mustard boards are stamped in silver and gilt. Modest edgewear and some spotting to topstain. Binding is sound and pages unmarked.
