ISBN: 0062700219
New York: HarperCollins, 1991. First Edition with full numberline. Signed by Edward Luttwak without named dedication on full title to journalist William Safire with inscription "Since you read dictionaries... Edward Luttwak, In witness (?), June 1991." This book obtained directly from Safire's estate.
Quarto; 680pp. Apparatus printed in two columns. Illustrated dust jacket with $45 price intact; book in black cloth-covered boards with silver lettering to spine. Jacket is clean and crisp with very faint toning along top edge. Boards are sturdy and square. Pages a bit toned along edges but unmarked. Binding is sound.
A vastly-expanded military lexicon building on Luttwak's 1971 dictionary of the same title with help this time from military analyst Stuart L. Koehl. The reworking was apparently enough that Luttwak's prior volume goes completely unacknowledged in this volume.
