Unclipped dust jacket is slightly soiled, mainly from shelf dust and browning, and spine shows central vertical crease, now flattened in mylar, as well as chips missing at jacket spine crown and foot. Green cloth is remarkably bright. Two small ink stamps (C.V. 2430) at base of front pastedown, perhaps inventory markers. Textblock shows some foxing on all edges; pages clean, square, and unmarked.
Neill, who can now retroactively be seen as the grandfather of all post-1960s forms of free schooling, de-schooling, and un-schooling, is most famous as the founder of the Summerhill School in England. His 1960 volume, "Summerhill: A Radical Approach to Child Rearing," made him the counter-culture Mr. Chips for all those opposed to any mainstream Mr. Chips.
