Good. Item #5972
Boston: Hertel, Jenkins & Co., 1907. First Edition. Octavo. 379 pages. Black and white illustrations throughout and all accounted for. Red cloth; front ruled in black, stamped in white, now faded almost entirely to clear. Title stamped in black with title blind stamped.
Heavy wear and soiling to extremities and spine. Edges cracked in spots. Binding gives a little but holding. Edges of text block heavily stained. Endpapers lightly soiled, rest of interior surprisingly clean and unmarked.
Despite the flaws, an overall sound copy of Washington's account of the 'business awakening' in the African-American community at the beginning of the 20th century.
