London: T. Boys, 1826. First Edition. Two volumes in one. 24mo; 360pp. Two engraved title pages with engraved five-portrait frontispieces opposite. Marbled paper-covered boards with leather spine and corner tips with leather title card to spine. Marbled page edges. Boards a bit bumped at corners and spine ends, with some smudging to front and back. Dampstain to initial and terminal pages, with main text block unaffected. Binding is sound and pages unmarked.

Collection of just over 1600 quotations by various authors, uncategorized but with index at back. A blurb in an 1825 issue of The Lady's Monthly Museum notes that volumes of the series were to appear each month throughout the upcoming year.
