Account of the world tour of General Tom Thumb (born Charles Sherwood Stratton), his wife Lavinia Warren, "Commodore" George Washington Morrison Nutt, and his wife Minnie Warren (Lavinia's sister), all of whom were dwarfs who performed for and were promoted by P.T. Barnum. The group set off through the American west, seeing Pawnee warriors in the plains, meeting Brigham Young, and seeing California before departing for Japan, China, Australia, India, and Egypt. Bleeker, who managed the tour, reports the group covered just over 55,000 miles, performing 1,471 shows in 587 locations.
