Essentially a copious photo album, compiled from dozens of photographers, of images of locomotives and trains under the Chessie umbrella, with all photos well captioned. Hypersensitive proofreaders should be warned that the printing press train seems to have left the station before proofreading and copy-editing were thoroughly polished—though that does nothing to diminish the nostalgic power of the photographic survey.
