Paris: The Olympia Press, 1959. First Edition, First Issue with "Francs : 1500" without later cancelled price on back. In original dust jacket.
Mass market paperback; [vi], 7- pages. White and purple dust jacket with "Francs 1500" intact. Book in Olympia's usual olive-green wraps with chain-pattern and double black-ruled border filled with a white band. Green ornamental border to title page.
Jacket chipped (1/4") at head of spine with a lossless adjacent tear about a half inch inward, another small clean tear to bottom front at spine fold, and some light toning. Covers are clean with light edgewear and some faint creases at top back, but with no chips, tears, or marks. Spine a bit concave but unbroken with only faint creasing. Binding is sound and pages unmarked.
5000 copies printed, a number of these later stamped over with a new price (the "second issue"). According to Kearney the now somewhat uncommon dust jackets were issued a few months after the book's initial release, but weren't used on later printings.
