Portrait frontispieces of Stevenson by Salomon van Abbé. Illustrations for Treasure Island by Arnold Beauvais; for A Child's Garden of Verses by Hilda Goldwag.

Navy blue flexible leatherette with gilt spine stamping, blue topstain on all textblocks. Slipcase in white-on-blue Collins logo pattern.

Slipcase chafed at edges and corners, with some sunning to rear panel, but tight and solid, without cracks or warpage. Volumes seemingly unread with bright binding and crisp, unmarked and unmarred textblocks.

Collins contrived to match the thickness of the seven volumes for this nifty presentation by varying the weight of the paper from volume to volume: heavier for the shortest; india paper for the longest. This slipcased set was issued c. 1968, but the works themselves were first published in the layouts reprinted for this boxed edition between 1953 and 1968.
