Dust jackets show some light wear and rubbing with some very light chipping to spine ends and corners. Boards are worn along edges with brief exposure. Some light staining along bottom edges. Bindings are sound. Pages to volume two dog-eared, but overall unmarked.
Farragut was the first vice admiral, rear admiral, and admiral in the United States Navy, and is most remembered for his command, "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead," at the battle of Mobile Bay. This biography covers the whole of his career, which began as a midshipman at age 9.
