Very Good. Item #6859
Boston: Benjamin H. Greene, 1847. Reprint. Small 12mo (16cm.); publisher's rose blind-embossed cloth, spine elaborately tooled in gilt; 144pp.
Light shelf wear, corners bumped with brief exposure, cloth mostly faded to orange, later sticker to rear pastedown, else Very Good, internally near fine. With the contemporary ex libris of the Kingston Library (Rhode Island), dated Jan. 1, 1853, and providing terms (Novels and Romances, three cents per volume a week; for all others, one cent per volume a week). Additionally, "Persons taking Books shall be considered bound to handle them with clean hands, to keep them in good order, not to mark or deface them," etc. A lovely survival of an early American lending library.
